Fate of the American Hikers in Iran Revealed

A wise friend of mine once told me, “When elephants fight, ants die”.

Iran has sentenced the two American hikers detained in the Islamic Republic to Eight years in prison on charges of “illegal entry” and “espionage,”.

They had been detained since 2009, claiming they were hiking in Iraq’s northern province of Kurdistan when they innocently strayed into the Islamic Republic of Iran.
They have pleaded not guilty to spying charges.
The case with the 3rd hiker, Sarah Shourd, who was released on bail of $500,000 is still open.
This is a sad day for the parents of the accused, and testament to the phrase said above, for it is when elephants fight that ants get killed.
Whether or not they are really spies is not for me to verify or nullify, the fact that they were caught in Iran seems evidence enough, and from the get-go they were guilty until proven innocent.
