Modern Day Kane & Abel – Oasis’s Gallaghers

Growing up in The English School of Kuwait, one was immersed in a culture entrenched with British Media, least of which manifested itself with an infatuation of a British Pop group that went by the name of “Oasis“, as it was trending at the time.

Amongst their most popular hits, Wonderwall, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

Early 2010 saw problems for the band, mainly between the two brothers, Liam & Noel. During the BRIT awards of 2010, where Oasis won the award for Best Brit Album of the last 30 years, Liam Gallagher collected the award alone, before presenting his speech. His speech thanked the band members but not his brother, Noel, then Liam threw his microphone and the band’s award into the crowd.

Now, Liam Gallagher is suing his brother Noel over his claims that the band once cancelled a gig because the singer was hungover.

The band had split up after soon after the V Festival incident, where they could not perform at the time..

The official explanation given was that Liam Gallagher had laryngitis.

In a statement, he said he had “tried to resolve this amicably but have been left with no choice but legal action”.

“All I want is an apology,” he added.

It is a sad predicament when brothers, family, blood, turn their relationship into a media circus and drag each other in and out of court over such accusations and allegations. The request for an apology is a farce, for there is no such thing as negative publicity, and this stunt puts their collective names back in the media.

Do not be surprised if a few months from now a “One Night Only” Oasis back-together concert is selling out somewhere in the UK.

Not to mention other famous sibling rivalries in the court rooms, most famous being the legal spat between billionaire brothers Mukesh & Anil Ambani (link) .

I’d never sue my brothers.
