Nothing lasts forever

A short while back I was distraught as a result of the renovation of the old Souq in Salmiya in the name of progress.

Upset that I had never sought to grab a picture of Old Salmiya as it used to be, and the new face that is steadily and surely rising to replace it, I came across a building being demolished during a contemplative walk and, like any writer, immediately thought of words to go with the picture, and snapped it.

Little did I realize the picture was painting more words than I had originally anticipated.

The foreground of the picture shows a building being demolished, the background shows what is to rise from the rubble in the coming months.

That ladies and gentlemen, is the future. It is the old making way for the new, Progress. Rising like a phoenix from its own ashes.
